I bought the cuisinart coffee maker a month and a half ago, and have no complaints so far. I use the thing every day.
Time involvement:
I am a university student and part time employee who wakes up a new time each morning in the week, and I also like to drink tea sometimes as opposed to coffee. Mostly I brew coffee each morning, but sometimes I choose to see if I can go right through the day without a caffeine dependence, only to find I have to brew a cup late later in the day to finish my day’s accountabilities. So far, this coffee maker has fit perfectly into my irregular java drinking schedule. It brews all four cups in about 5 units, and it only takes a short while to place in the filter, add coffee grounds, brew, then rinse the carafe and removable coffee filter container. On days when I’m racing out the door, taking the small period to prepare my gourmet coffee doesn’t impede my hurry.
Taste:
I buy gourmet gourmet coffee, and I find how the coffee comes out mouth watering great. Sometimes I take my gourmet coffee towards the brewer at work–which is really a 12-cup, 2-carafe brewer–and the coffee isn’t nearly as good. Since these are the only real brewers I’ve used often, I’m not sure if you can find any brewers that brew “cleaner, ” but since When i don’t notice any unusual tastes within my coffee, I’d say this an example may be pretty clean. To enhance taste, I use cold drinking water from my Brita water filters filter–I’ve found that impurities in plain tap water are sometimes amplified when heated in coffee brewers. I use paper filtration now, just because there are not any 4-cup permanent filters in the store when I ordered this, but I hear everlasting filters provide even cleaner of any taste.
Speaking of the filter, I’ve read a few reviews complaints in regards to the filter folding over as well as allowing grounds to drain into the carafe. If this is the only problem, a permanent filter will certainly care for this. However, I have not once had this concern.
Size:
If you have multiple coffee drinker in the home, or you are someone who likes a great deal of coffee to get heading, you may need your 12 cup brewer. 4 cups are enough for me to work my thermos and sip on right through the day at work or higher education, and if I at any time need more, I prefer a clean brew anyway. There’s just something around the taste of reheated espresso that turns me away from.
Carafe:
The 4-cup carafe is well-built and easy to dump. I saw reviews about how precisely precisely hard it is to pour without spilling–I haven’t had one particular spill yet. Just make sure you retain the lid from flopping open up. If you need for you to, place your thumb alongside the hinge when holding it to maintain it closed (if you own this, you should know why). The one complaint I truly do have about it, though–and it’s minor–is your extreme tapered shape. The taper at the superior creates a little “shelf” where the previous few drops of coffee acquire caught when pouring, and you almost have to invert the carafe completely the other way up to get it out. However, the amount caught within this shelf is very small and never worth inverting to escape. I always rinse our carafe out after polishing off the coffee, and it’s no trouble to invert the carafe within the sink.
Timer:
At first, I was upset that this “delay brew” feature needed set every night. I was hoping for a brewer that you started once, and it would routinely brew every morning. Now I know the reason why they built this brewer this way. There are times I am just just too busy to keep in mind changing the filter and also coffee, or I forget to exchange the carafe on the actual heated plate after rinsing it. I’d hate to awaken the next morning to see twice brewed coffee in my carafe, or worse, all over my kitchen counter and floor! This feature is some sort of blessing for busy as well as scatterbrained people. And since you must change the coffee and filter every night to have automatic brew the following morning anyway, turning the “delay brew” button on each night isn’t any more associated with an inconvenience.
My brewer sits between my microwave and cooker, both of which possess clocks. I haven’t noticed some time being off on my brewer from the time I’ve had this, like others have seasoned.
Other:
It’s small, light, and the filter basket comes out to help you rinse it after just about every brew. I think that’s crucial that you the freshness of your own coffee. I’ve also torn wide open tea bags and poured the earth leaves into the coffee filter so i could brew large amounts of tea. This seems to function great and really maximizes the flavor in the tea, but since tea unsightly stains easier than coffee, I have to pay more attention after i rinse my filter basket and carafe to ensure the tea taste doesn’t linger when I will brew coffee.
Now, this coffee maker would seem pretty solid. However, any appliance can bust early, and since I’ve only had this coffee brewer over a month, I can’t say just how long these things last. But I’ve had no problems until now, and I recommend this coffee machine.
