I’m John and I’m a coffee addict… My habit ranges from 1 to 3 pots a day just to remain aware. So you can understand the level of misery I have had to endure this past full week as my 4 yr old Gevalia machine achieved an untimely death on a recent lightning storm. I then began the hunt for a new machine. Basically, Amazon was my first stop given that they have everything. I read all types of reviews, and finally settled on this one. I must say, this is by far the most effective machine I’ve ever owned.
In reading the critiques, I found a few gripes i always don’t agree with, so here’s my reaction to those:
1. The number one gripe My partner and i see is filling trouble. The fill hole is significantly larger than my old machine. Some people said the too small and makes an enormous mess. My first time, it did drip a little bit but if you leave the lid over pot while pouring, works like a elegance. Let me put it in this way… I wake up each day with the jitters, like a fiend in search of some crack… If I can pour it without creating a mess ANYONE can. And that’s a simple fact.
2. Numero Dos: Programming difficulty. I’m no rocket scientist the slightest bit, but I had that thing programmed within in relation to 5 minutes. I had no problem understanding the directions. I believe most gripes in this area are operator error.
3. Basket issues: It doesn’t stand up by itself, true, but I don’t know the way anyone could miss the basket. Leave it in the equipment for pete sake! I hope they tend not to miss their mouth with that hot coffee! Again, If I can do it without making a chaos, anyone can. As for choosing paper or mesh filter, paper of course filtration better, but mesh makes it stronger and leaves a certain amount of sediment in the weed… each way has it’s benefits determined by how you like yours. cuisinart coffee maker
4. Flip-top so large you must pull it out from beneath counter: True, but how lazy is it possible to be… honestly? It’s not that hard of your chore. You’d be hard pressed to locate a machine that isn’t such as this.
I, like others, had some pre-conceived ideas from negative reviews, but I found most if not All of those to be some very weak arguments. I guess some people have an overabundance problems than others when trying to understand directions and this kind of. This machine is highly rated for the price, hands down!
